Computers & Operations Research Impact factor 2007: 1.147 Guest editor: Desheng Dash Wu, David L. Olson and John BirgeThis special issue of Computers & Operations Research on the theme of “Operations Research in Risk Management” is intended to present the recent advances in using Operations Research for risk management, to provide an opportunity for the broader Operations Research community to become aware of recent “Operations Research in Risk Management” research. Authors are encouraged to submit both theoretical and applied articles addressing the theme of the special issue. Note that submissions need to have good OR models with extensive numerical experiments or constructive algorithmic results. We no longer accept papers with illustrative examples. TopicsPotential topics include, but are not limited to: Operations Research for enterprise risk management; Optimizing supply chain risk management; Portfolio selection of various financial instrument; Optimization and simulation in operational risk management; Operations decision making in risk management; Linear and nonlinear programming in managing market risk; Multi-criteria decision making in financial services; Operations Research in banking operations, e.g., credit scoring; Operations Research for natural disasters risk management; Many others of using OR in risk management Manuscript Preparation and Submission To prepare their manuscript, authors are asked to closely follow the “Instructions to Authors” which can be found on the Journal Home page: http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/journaldescription.cws_home/300/authorinstructions.Manuscripts will be refereed according to the standards of COR. To submit your article online, go to: http://ees.elsevier.com/cor. All papers will be handled through the EES. To ensure that all manuscripts are correctly identified for inclusion into the special issue, it is important that authors select OR in Risk Management when they reach the “Article Type” step in the submission process. Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.
